This week's theme is Soul

My dictionary had 8 definitions of soul, my favorite being:
noble warmth of spirit
I like the way that sounds and the image it conveys.

What does soul mean to you?

To me soul is the very essence of man. But it is also things that bring us comfort and a feeling of well being...like picnic in the country with crispy fried chicken and granny's best potato salad !

It isn't a dictionary def. but I think of soul as the core of someone's being. It's a beautiful word.

Soul to me is the intangible spirit that lives in us all and forms our total being. That's a thought provoking one...

I think of the soul as man's connection to God.

My essence. The part of me that will continue into eternity in heaven by God's grace. :)

Charmaine, I love the drawing you chose to illustrate the soul. It reminds me of the power of music to strike a chord in our being, the depth of which we cannot fathom. As a singer who suffers from nerves that can downgrade the quality of my voice - I've witnessed how even when I feel distressed by a mediocre performance, others can be "transformed" by the music in body and soul. Perhaps then the soul is an instrument upon which we experience the countless dimensions of our lives, both here on earth and beyond. For I've witnessed that, too... my mother's body clearly vacated by her soul. That was a lesson I carry with me always - our bodies are NOT our souls. Thanks for asking!

Hmmm..now I have to tickle my brain to answer this. To me, it's the connection to something or someone and it means more than just what the eye see, it's a connection of the hearts..I think. Hope it makes sense..
