Front yard progression

The previous owner of this property was fond of water sucking green grass.

Spring 2007

Since we live in the high desert with a limited amount of rainfall, we tore out the lawn and installed native, drought tolerant plants in May of 2008.

Two years later, the yard is taking shape.

High desert seasons are shorter than other areas of Oregon. We had snow and hail two days ago. It takes a while for plants to grow here...

Looks like forward progress and a great improvement over the previous landscaping. Go Charmaine and Mark!

Gosh, that must be hard for you to 'wait' for things to grow, after having lived over here. I guess you and I traded places. I didn't do much gardening when we lived in Spokane, but now I am enjoying really learning a thing or two.
