Lofty Aspirations

I've always been an avid reader, and I've always been interested in art. As a child, I was sure I was going to either illustrate books, or be a window cartoonist for gas stations and grocery stores "when I grew up". (Yeah, go ahead and laugh)

This image (from a web search) takes book illustration to a whole new level:

As does Su Blackwell, an artist from the UK. Her work astounds me.

“There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favorite book.” - Marcel Proust

Be sure to check on Su Blackwell's link, too. Similar, but better!

That is just incredible! My current favorite book is "The Book As Art." I practically carry it around with me. You would love it.

Whoa! I'm completely amazed at what people can do. I don't even know how you go about dreaming up something like this!

Oh, my goodness! That is amazing!

When I grew up, I was going to either be a fashion designer or writer. Of course, I don't sew.
