Blackstone Edge
the shape reminded me of the sea urchins I recently listed....which got me thinking....how could I make a lamp part, with openings on each end, into a jar?Blackstone Edge
I had these vintage lamp parts listed in my supply shop.....
The solution? Glue a glass tile circle to the bottom with china cement. (I just happened to have some of these....)
I filled the "jar" with tiny shells and fresh water pearls. Added a sea urchin shell to the top. Voila.

Oh I want your sea treasure jar!!!
Lovely room too!
Your office is so bright and cheery. I love the jar you made too. My Mom has a similar talent for making things come together as she sees them.
I've got a wall the color of that room. :)
The sea treasure jar fairly rocks! It really does look like an urchin.
That jar is beautiful..What a great job you did..
Love, love, love your urchin jar!
Oh that's neat! I'm *so* tempted by those sea urchins, every time I see one - but I've just no idea how I'd use it! But I like the mix with the vintage lamp - very cool!
Look how clever you are! That is wonderful!
So clever - the treasure jar is gorgeous. And what a nice, neat, office. I can just imagine what it looks like now....
You've a lovely blog. I will be back!
Clever clever! And the final is so pretty! Make more and sell 'em!
Hello Diva
that sea treasure jar is wonderful, I love the colour of your room! I am thinking of repainting my boring bedroom and that shade is just right :)
I like your ofice space very much. & I love your Sea Treasure Jar! Crafty little Diva! I second Ciacada Studio. Make more & sell them!!!
The only problem with using vintage items when being creative is finding more of the same....I have the metal lamp part that is of similar shape...I could make a sea urchin sculpture out of it (and may do so) but it won't have the seashells and freshwater pearls in it as one wouldn't be able to see them.
oh I love your sea treasure jar, it is wonderful! Everything goes together just perfectly. And well done on winning Paper Menageries giveaway, you won some lovely things
:)
What a clever idea! Your jar is simply beautiful!
You know how much I love urchins, they are such a great inspiration! This looks great!

The sea treasure jar is brilliance! And I will fight Nuvonova for it in a jello wrestle.
Nice ceiling and wall color. Makes your room bright and lively. Oh and majority is right, the sea treasure jar is just fabulous.
Sea treasure jar! Lovely name and its so cute. I like the colour on your walls...so cheery and fresh.
Wow, what an industrious solution! Great idea!
Could you be more crafty? Great use for that jar! In the guest bath? Love the color in your office, it is so nice with the wood. Just gorgeous as always!
I once ate sea urchin. I can tell you with utter certainty that the appearance of your wondrous urchin creation exceeds actual urchins in deliciousness.
Wonderful collection. I love the bright watercolor (?) on the wall! So inviting!
I absolutely LOVE your craft room!! Someday, mine will get painted too... but perhaps, it'll be in the next house... *sigh*
I just can't make up my mind between a sunny yellow, a happy tangerine, or a pastel-ish funky turquoise. This room is just too small for me to decide!
hehee...
