Get crafty

I actually cleaned my office...it looked good for the photoshoot...so I thought I better show you a picture of how it can look. It's back to its normal state of chaos now. But the clean desk did inspire me...

the shape reminded me of the sea urchins I recently listed....which got me thinking....how could I make a lamp part, with openings on each end, into a jar?
The solution? Glue a glass tile circle to the bottom with china cement. (I just happened to have some of these....)
I filled the "jar" with tiny shells and fresh water pearls. Added a sea urchin shell to the top. Voila.

Your office is so bright and cheery. I love the jar you made too. My Mom has a similar talent for making things come together as she sees them.

I've got a wall the color of that room. :)

The sea treasure jar fairly rocks! It really does look like an urchin.

Oh that's neat! I'm *so* tempted by those sea urchins, every time I see one - but I've just no idea how I'd use it! But I like the mix with the vintage lamp - very cool!

The only problem with using vintage items when being creative is finding more of the same....I have the metal lamp part that is of similar shape...I could make a sea urchin sculpture out of it (and may do so) but it won't have the seashells and freshwater pearls in it as one wouldn't be able to see them.

your office is so pretty and neat! i love seeing where others work, give such insight into them. (my own office is essentially my whole house and i move from one overly cluttered art-strewn room to another.)

I once ate sea urchin. I can tell you with utter certainty that the appearance of your wondrous urchin creation exceeds actual urchins in deliciousness.

I absolutely LOVE your craft room!! Someday, mine will get painted too... but perhaps, it'll be in the next house... *sigh*

I just can't make up my mind between a sunny yellow, a happy tangerine, or a pastel-ish funky turquoise. This room is just too small for me to decide!
